OUR STORY:

Life in the Cacy home is vibrant, integrated, and rarely boring! Through 30 years of marriage,

we have become a large tribe-like family that is committed to each other in the richness of

different backgrounds, races and shared experiences.

Throughout our life and marriage God has honored us to have kids from the city in our home,

around our table and a part of our adventures. Each one has deeply enriched our lives, and they

each other’s lives! Many of these children are grown now and remain close members of our

ever increasing family. Chapter 58 of Isaiah has been especially meaningful to us as the Lord

calls his people to “spend yourself in behalf of the hungry, and satisfy the needs of the

oppressed.” This is God’s way with all of us...and we get to express it to each other. What an

honor!

After more than 40 years of in depth involvement in the urban core of Kansas City, MO, including

working full-time for over 20 years at Freedom Fire Ministries, in 2020 we began i58kc as a way

to expand our heart for sharing everyday life and God’s Kingdom fullness with the urban youth

of Kansas City. We see i58kc as more of a family than a ministry, inviting more and more

young people to join “the household of God” and enjoy the extravagant love of their Father in

heaven. We invite you to come join the tribe!

Is this not the kind of fasting I have chosen:

to loose the chains of injustice

and untie the cords of the yoke,

to set the oppressed free

and break every yoke?

Is it not to share your food with the hungry

and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter-

when you see the naked, to clothe him,

and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

Then your light will break forth like the dawn,

and your healing will quickly appear;

Then your righteousness will go before you,

and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.

Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;

you will cry for help, and He will say: Here am I.

And if you offer yourself to the hungry

and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,

then your light will rise in the darkness,

and your night will become like the noonday.

The LORD will guide you always;

he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land

and will strengthen your frame.

You will be like a well-watered garden,

like a spring whose waters never fail.

Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins

and will raise up the age-old foundations;

you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,

Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.
