Bible studies written with urban teens in mind.

“The Bible is boring!” You might have heard this from kids before. But when you take a closer look, the Bible is full of danger and intrigue, loyalty and betrayals, evil kings and underdog heroes. God knows how to tell a good story.

The Bible is not boring!

Teens in the ‘hood are often faced with dangers and difficulties, and when you look closely, there is some surprising common ground with Bible characters. We hope these booklets help the truths of the Bible come to life with your teens.

About these Bible Studies

Each of these ten-lesson studies center around stories, a method Jesus himself used constantly. This makes it easier for kids (and grown-ups!) to focus, pay attention, and learn. Also following Jesus’ example, there is a combination of teaching and questions. Many of the questions are open-ended and may not have a clear “right answer.”  The stories and the questions allow for the discussion to go different directions as the Holy Spirit guides, rather than having to follow a script. Leaders should feel free to be creative with it and use the study as an outline. It is our hope that God will use these stories to develop in your youth a deep love for Jesus and for the Scriptures that tell about him.

This study is intended for group use or to be done individually by group members, and then brought back for discussion. Or they can be done by individuals on their own without a group. Space is provided to write answers to questions. The study is designed for use in urban ministry with boys in mind, but will work for all youth ages 12 and up.
